Panoscope.AI

Leveraging AI to create a better way to search video and audio content

Client: Personal Project Built with a Peer

Time Allotted: Multiple Design Sprints over a 4 month period.

Primary Tools: Figma, V0, Cursor, Zoom for User Testing and Collaboration

Background

I began working on Panoscope.AI with a colleague in October 2024. Our vision was to harness emerging AI tools to transform how we search for video and audio content. At its core, Panoscope takes a user’s search query, scans audio transcripts (e.g., from YouTube), and generates a playlist that directly aligns with their request. Unlike traditional search methods that rely on keywords and clickbait, Panoscope ensures that results genuinely match the search intent. Users receive a curated playlist of relevant content, clipped to the most pertinent sections, along with a topic summary featuring multiple viewpoints and sources.

Roles and Responsibilities

My work on Panoscope began from the ground up, collaborating closely with my colleague to define product features and design a seamless user experience. We followed a lean approach, prioritizing core functionalities to quickly develop a minimum viable product (MVP). Leading the visual design efforts, I guided the process from initial sketches to a fully functional mockup—establishing a design system, creating multiple prototypes, and refining the interface.

Together, we developed a clear strategy and vision, identified potential shortcomings, ensured accessibility compliance, and crafted an intuitive user experience. The design process involved user testing, critique sessions, wireframing, prototyping, A/B testing, and continuous collaboration to maintain consistency. Additionally, I focused on scalability, future-proofing the design, and minimizing potential production challenges across both desktop and mobile.

Designing the core Panoscope Experience

Starting from scratch, I worked closely with developers to design and prototype the front-end interface of the Panoscope experience for both desktop and mobile. By prioritizing an intuitive and seamless user experience, we transformed our initial concept into a fully functional product.
